Panduranga... Panduranga... was all i could hear... and everyone around me were able to see 'Panduranga', which i dont even think of.. 'Warkaris' as they are called, were so transed in their devotion that, only few registered my lens clicking them.
'Paalkhi' is integral part of Maharashtrian tradition, which symbolizes devotion, persistence and more than that, LOVE for Vitthoba! Centuries together warkaris in large numbers gather at Pandharpur, to seek Darshan on Ashadhi Ekadashi... its a journey from Dehu and Alandi to Pandharpur, which is around 220km! The energy, enthusiasm and anxiety to see Vithal-Rukhmini amongst warkaris is worth watching. Its an experience....
Here are some snaps that would make you witness this amazing Waari, Palkhi...
Bola Pundalik warde.... HARI VITTHAL! Shri Dnyandev.... Tukaaraam... Padharinath Maharaj ki JAI!!!!!!

Got glimpse of Pandharpur in these faces..good catches..i had been with these people many times and their simplicity wins you..the way they manage their long walking journey with women and kids, food, stay is just amazing..even state administartion fails in front of them..
